Scree is a single S’klik, a member of a eusocial species. She was exiled from her colony due to having a disorder that made it impossible for her to properly communicate with other S’kliks. After being sent on a solo mission across the galaxy, she was picked up by Red and Triss while on their revenge mission to kill Kondoz. She quickly learned how to speak and write Compie Phonetic Standard, and was named Scree by Triss and Red due to the sounds that she naturally makes.
Scree is extremely intelligent and competent. She is a skilled pilot and technician, and is pretty much the only reason anything gets done ever.
After the events of NK:01, she establishes remote contact with Zee, and later Seven and Vesper.
