Xaveria in NK:01

“In a universe so dark, with teeth glinting like stars… A cage is the only safe place.”

Xaveria is a Compie who works on the SOL-0 Orbiter, raising Tye on Level 2 alongside Xera. In their co-parenting relationship, Xaveria took on the role of the distant and strict guardian, while Xera (posing as Dr. Qunbix) was nurturing and supportive. Xaveria is deeply invested in human culture and history, specifically art history. As Tye’s doctor, she attempted to encourage Tye’s artistic growth and encouraged them to improve their technical skills.

Xaveria is infamous in Compie society for her Attachment Mutation, which she has never been able to conceal. Unable to escape the attention, Xaveria had notorious string of failed entanglements throughout her years at Zolitanya University, using her ankar to delete any painful memories accrued along the way. Xaveria’s reputation caught the attention of Director Kondoz who, believing that AM Compies are especially suited to interact with humans, recruited Xaveria to work on Level 2 shortly after her graduation. Xaveria subsequently grew deeply attached to every human she raised on the Station, and the mental toll of having “her children” taken away from her generation after generation was slowly killing her.

When the Station is attacked on the First Day, Xaveria is killed by Triss while attempting to escape with Tye. In NK:02, eight years after her death, she is tenured, but only under the Terms and Conditions that she be used as a test subject in Director Woxlixow’s ongoing search for a ‘cure’ for Attachment Mutations.
